豆知識1：サザエさんの家が傾いている

Sazae-san, a popular Japanese anime and manga series, is set in a classic Japanese home. However, did you know that the home is actually tilted to the side? The reason being that it is easier for the animators to show the characters moving around in the house and talking face to face, rather than having them face each other diagonally.

豆知識2：サザエさんのパパは実はお酒が弱い

In the Sazae-san series, the father character, Namihei, is often depicted as a heavy drinker. However, in reality, the character’s voice actor is actually quite weak to alcohol. In order to properly portray the character, the actor would use a technique called “voice acting sober”, where they would purposely slur their words and exaggerate their movements to create the drunken persona.

豆知識3：サザエさんの作者は女性

Machiko Hasegawa, the author of Sazae-san, was one of the few female manga artists in Japan during the 20th century. She started her career in the 1930s and created Sazae-san in the 1940s as a reflection of her own life as a modern woman in post-war Japan. The series was groundbreaking for its time, as it depicted a female protagonist who was independent and outspoken.
